Tips from a very busy mom..
The never ending struggle of keeping our homes clean while simutaneously trying to enjoy parenthood, stay on top of work and remembering to breathe. It’s a wild ride with our tiny tornadoes of joy but it can be done! So let’s conquer this chaos together and keep our spaces clean and welcoming.
Don’t picture cleaning as this monotonous daunting task. Break it down into sections, lists, rooms, whatever your brain desires though I know at times it desires to not do it at all. Turn on some music take off your sweats or pjs slip a pair of sneakers on (preferably ones that aren’t worn around town often) and get to it! Something about wearing a baseball cap and shoes makes me feel so much more productive vs wearing sweats. It might also help if you start by decluterring. Taking things to the rooms they belong to first before you dive into cleaning. this will help you stay on track so you’re not bouncing around from room to room between sweeping or wiping down the dinner table. This is where your kids come in handy! Have them take these items for you. Then you can get a jump start on the cleaning! If they can’t find a space for it, ask them to create their own donate pile. That’s a win win in my book.
Cleaning with a busy life style sometimes me you have to more faster. A quick clean is what I call it during the week. Ways you can speedup the process is to keep your cleaning supplies nearby. I’ve mentioned this before on my Facebook page. Creating small cleaning caddy’s to keep under your bathroom or kitchen cabinets will make it easier to grab and go! Depending on your children’s ages you can enlist the entire family to help. Another plus is that if old enough, the product line I offer is toxin free and safe for children and pets! So grab the whole crusade (husbands included) and knock these tasks out in no time!
Most of all, remember to breathe. I know we want our homes to be clean and cozy, but it’s important to cut ourselves some slack. Parenthood wouldn’t be parenthood without the mess. Take a break when you need to. Prioritize what’s most important to stay on top of to your family. Find the joy in the mundane, and if you stick around long enough I’ll teach you how to do that too
